Walking For a Cure
Coming up for air. I feel like I'm drowning but before I do I wanted to post.
Can I ask what is up with those Rainbow flip-flops that cost $50? And why do teeny-bopper middle schoolers have to be so "trendy"? O wants a pair of those in the worst way and I absolutely REFUSE to pay that kind of money. Everything is Abercrombie or A/E, Aeropastle, blah blah blah. I can't wait for this phase to end and she gets a job. She's become known as Mouth around here. No swearing or anything just incredibly LOUD. Oh to be a mother of a teenage daughter.
We went down to see my family last weekend. I had a blast as always. This was the first time we'd been down there since my dad died so it was kind of odd not to have him there. I immediately went into the room he was in when he passed to see if I could feel him. I know that sounds hokey, but I just want him to let us know he's okay. We went through some of his things that my mom had kept, his jewelry and such. Everyone picked out what they wanted. I got his college ring, this little poker machine thingy that doesn't work and his jewelry box which is beautiful. That man had about 10 watches that he had kept over the years and O grabbed the last one he wore. It was still keeping time. All the guys fought over the partial box of Viagara. What a bunch of freaks! We had Abby-gail's birfday party on Saturday. A total Cinco-De-Mayo blowout, mariachi music and all. The neighbors probably thought we were all losing it. I love getting together with my family, we're loud and we laugh alot. Even the teenagers want to hang out with us.
Tomorrow we're doing the Relay For Life. A girl from work has coordinated our team so we'll be walking around the track for a cure. It's really a cool thing to participate in. At dark they light up all the luminaries that have been purchased in either a lost one, survivor or a battling person's name. They have a few minutes of silence and then keep walking through the night. Very fun plus we're getting exercise.
