Just Stuff
Oy what a day. I had to go to the Unemployment office again. Seems my previous employer has declined my claim. Not that I thought they'd accept it. The comments made were: "Employee quit. She was given an option to resign". End of statement. So let me see, I was called into managers office and was told "We're going to let you resign" (oh thank you, thank you) then I'm escorted to my office where I am assisted in collecting my belongings, then escorted to the parking lot with said belongings. I never said the words "I quit" nor did I compose or sign a resignation letter and had I refused their "option" and went back to my desk and carried on as usual you don't think they would've have had me physically removed from the premises? I think not. And just what is the difference between Resigning and Quitting? As I see it, not much. I had no option here folks. Needless to say I appealed and will do so "til I can't appeal no more". Why do I have a feeling that this is going to get, shall I say, dirty? My next question to them is "what did you expect me to do?" and do you mean to tell me that you don't have the $223.00 a week that I'd be making through unemployment? Give me a stinkin' break. I guess now I know what it feels like to have balls. Pffft.
Moving along. We're going to my parents next weekend. It was either go now or go for Thanksgiving and I really don't want to go down there in November. I just want to hang out with the fam for this years holidays, no traveling. They had originally wanted us to come down this weekend, but Mark really wants to start the deck and Saturday is Matty's birthday and he wants a party, so we've compromised, Mom's pretty stoked.
My son woke up this morning and the first words he said were "I just want to remind you that today is July 1st and my birthday is the 5th, you have 5 shopping days"! What a card that kid. We quickly got his invites out this afternoon. Poor kid has a summer birthday so most of his friends are on vacation, so we ended up inviting 3 kids that he's not really allowed to play with (not in the house anyway). It'll be fine though, he'll have a party with family here and then again at Grama and Papa's.
